How to Register for the County Wide Physical Ability

  1. Click here for the County Wide Physical Ability Registration Application
  2.  Attach copy of your State Fire Fighter Certification to application and apply in person at Broward Fire Academy: 2600 SW 71 Terrace Davie, FL 33314 – Friday 8:00am – 3:00pm. Also, you can fax or email the registration packet. Registration packets WILL NOT be accepted without a copy of your Florida State Fire Marshal Certificate. (DO NOT SEND IN YOUR HOLD HARMLESS OR PHYSICIAN STATEMENT WITH YOUR REGISTRATION PACKET-NEED TO BRING ON DAY OF TEST)

County Wide Physical Ability Test Requirements

  2. Bring the following items with you on your testing day before 6:45am (It is your responsibility to show up for the testing date you registered for):
  • Photo id
  • Notarized hold harmless (must be notarized & dated within 6 months of test date). keep a copy for your records; we are not responsible for your documents. (Form is in the Outline)
  • Signed physicians statement (must be signed by a doctor & dated within 6 months of test date). keep a copy for your records; we are not responsible for your documents. (Form is in the Outline)
  • Towel
  • Pants for pool
  • Change of clothing
  • Food and water
  • Personal timing devices are not allowed
  • Cell phones are not allowed during test
  • You must arrive at the academy by 6:45am on test day-NO LATE ARRIVALS WILL BE ALLOWED TO TEST
  • Notice:

    Registration closes the Wednesday prior to testing date at 2:30 p.m. or once maximum enrollment of 100 applicants is met, whichever comes first. If you fax in your application, please make sure you call the office to acknowledge we received it.

    Refunds:

    Refunds will only be processed in person. It is your responsibility to come to the Broward Fire Academy Registration office Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. prior to your testing date to request a refund. If you registered by fax your registration application and receipt will be in the front office. Applicants that registered in person will need to bring the receipt given to you at the time of registration. The $20.00 registration fee is non-refundable and you will receive a $25.00 refund only if you bring the required documents prior to your testing date. No refunds or class changes will be permitted after your scheduled testing date.
